Audrey Douglas-Cooke, RN, MSA
Ms. Douglas Cooke completed her undergraduate degree from Georgetown with a Bachelors Degree in
Nursing and received her Masters Degree in Hospital Administration at the Central Michigan
University. Her wealth of experience ranges from oncology to surgery to her current role as Director,
Cardiac Surgical Services overseeing the Open Heart and cardiac critical care programs for Sentara
Heart Hospital. Because of her expansive knowledge base, it is not uncommon to hear Ms. Douglas-
Cooke speak on topics such as Cardiac Disease in Women, Organizational Leadership or Health Care
and its Impact on the Business Community. On various occasions, Ms. Douglas-Cooke serves as a
motivational speaker, addressing her audience on a multi-disciplinary array of topics that have
included “The Power of One”. “Getting Started, Getting Motivated and Changing You” etc.
Robert G. Gayle, MD, FACS, RVT
Dr. Gayle received his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh, PA, where he also completed
his surgical internship and residency. In 1980, he completed his vascular and renal transplant surgery
fellowship at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, VA and spent two years as a visiting fellow
in organ transplantation surgery at the University of Cambridge Clinical School in Cambridge,
England. Dr. Gayle is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Surgery at Eastern Virginia Medical School in
Norfolk, VA, and is a member of Sentara Vascular Specialists.
Todd W. Gensler, MD, FACS
Dr. Gensler received his medical degree from Hahnemann University School of Medicine in
Philadelphia, PA and trained in general surgery at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in
Lexington, where he also completed a vascular surgery fellowship. In 1997, Dr. Gensler began
practicing with Carolina Surgical Care in Elizabeth City, North Carolina where he served as chief of
surgery at Albemarle Hospital. Dr. Gensler is now a member of Sentara Vascular Specialists and has
special interests in carotid disease as well as minimally invasive intervention for lower extremity and
mesenteric arterial occlusive disease.
William P. Grant, DPM
Dr. Grant received his doctorate in podiatric medicine at the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in
Cleveland, Ohio, and his residency at the Monsignor Clement Kern Hospital in Warren, Michigan. Dr.
Grant practices at the Tidewater Foot & Ankle Center, PC, and maintains hospital privileges at the
Sentara Bayside Hosptial, Sentara Hospitals-Norfolk and Bon Secours DePaul Hospital. Dr. Grant is
board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery, and is a Fellow of the American College
of Foot Surgeons.
Karah Lanier, MD
Dr. Lanier completed her medical degree at East Carolina University Brody School of Medicine. She
went on to complete her residency in radiology at Eastern Virginia Medical School, in Norfolk,
Virginia, and her fellowship in neuroradiology at Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Ohio. Dr. Lanier is a
member of Medical Center Radiologists.
