Bio Sketch Course Director
Rasesh M. Shah, MD, FACS
Dr. Shah received his medical degree from the University of Vermont
College of Medicine. Dr. Shah trained in general and vascular
surgery at State University of New York at Buffalo Affiliated
Hospitals where he completed his vascular fellowship in 1993. He
is board certified by the American Board of Surgery in both general
and vascular surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of
Surgeons (FACS).
Prior to relocating to Hampton Roads, Dr. Shah was in private practice
for seven years with the Buffalo Medical Group where he held an
appointment as an assistant professor of surgery with the State
University of New York. Dr. Shah is currently an Assistant
Professor of Surgery at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk,
Virginia.
At the newly named Sentara Vascular Specialists, Dr. Shah is especially
interested in the treatment of carotid artery disease and aneurysmal
disease using open and endovascular surgical techniques. Dr.
Shah maintains hospital privileges at the Sentara Hospitals,
Chesapeake Regional Medical Center, Children’s Hospital of the
King’s Daughters, and Bon Secours DePaul Hospital.
