Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this program, participants should be able to:
1. Evaluate treatment options for patients with aneurysms so that patients are diagnosed earlier and
receive appropriate therapy.
2. Identify and illustrate treatment options for vertebrobasilar insufficiency.
3. Analyze and understand the vascular access options for patients on dialysis and patients with long-
term venous access needs.
4. Understand and apply the management options for deep venous thrombosis – standard
anticoagulation or thrombolysis.
5. Review treatment modalities available for venous ulcerations.
6. Identify how to diagnose and develop treatment options for carotid body tumors.
7. Identify patients with critical limb ischemia and review treatment options.
Target Audience
This educational program is designed for Primary Care Physicians as well as Specialty Physicians and Allied
Health Professionals from the Mid-Atlantic Region, to include: Family Physicians, Internists, Hospitalists,
Cardiologists, Nephrologists, Neurologists, Vascular Surgeons, General Surgeons, Podiatrists, Emergency
Medicine Physicians, Interventional Radiologists, Vascular RNs, NPs, and PAs.

from the HybridOR at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, Sentara Careplex Hospital, and
Sentara Vascular Specialists outpatient locations.
